I think a workaround for when this someimtes happens to me is to either move the panel to top than back to bottom it will appear in the correct spot. If you want a way to not resize it have have prefered resolution for the guest try the save button in lxrandr to the desired resolution at login. Or you could also try an xrandr commandline saved in default apps for lxsession.
