for what it's worth, another solution to the horrific stuttering I encountered was to change in /etc/pulse/default.pa the line "load-module module-udev-detect" to "load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0". I am worried that this negatively impacts performance, or increases CPU or other resource usage. I am hesitant to recommend that as the default behavior if it does use more resources.
