Just verified that restoring the call to schedule_scan in supplicant_iface_scan_done function of NMDeviceWiFi does the trick and re-establishes periodic WiFi scanning. Tested on a krillin running the latest stable ( OTA5 ) image. More testing required, but looks like this is a simple one-line fix...
