Public bug reported: 1)
Description: Ubuntu 15.04, Release: 15.04 2) $ apt-cache policy thermald thermald: Installed: 1.4.3-3~15.04.1 Candidate: 1.4.3-3~15.04.1 Version table: *** 1.4.3-3~15.04.1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ vivid-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1.3-9 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ vivid/main amd64 Packages 3) I expected thermald to install successfully using default Ubuntu 'Software Updater'. 4) The install hung with no response from 'Software Updater' after 6 hours. Then subsequently after killing the process, I had to manually fix 'Software Updater' and re-install thermald using the following commands: dpkg --configure -a apt-get update apt-get upgrade apt-get purge thermald apt-get install --reinstall thermald The package is now installed.
