actually that patch isn't enough. even with just the line
  if (avahi_dns_packet_get_field(p, AVAHI_DNS_FIELD_ANCOUNT) == 0) {
as suggested, I still get this.

Perhaps newer versions of OS X do something that triggers this? Either
way, I think we shouldn't spam people's log files.
