Since yesterday, I've been getting similar problems. Yesterday 1 lockup and today 3 already in quick succession!
In my case, it seems to be a gradual lockup. Various programs still respond to some mouse input, cursor keeps on blinking like everything's normal, i can still switch tabs in FireFox. But keyboard doesn't respond & after a while, it seems moving the mouse pointer is all i can do.
