Just a small comment: I would also wish for a later version of the fglrx package.
I've tried for a long time to be able to dynamically enable my external monitor/projector using the official Ubuntu Gutsy fglrx package (xorg- driver-fglrx version 7.1.0-8.37.6+2.6.22.3-11.4). I've written about it in this thread in the Ubuntu Forum: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=556426 My conclusion for my hardware (not based on a lot of solid evidence) is: With xorg-driver-fglrx version 7.1.0-8.37.6+2.6.22.3-11.4 it doesn't seem that aticonfig is able to neither "query-display" nor "enable-display". After trying the latest 8.41.7 version of fglrx I'm able to do: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ aticonfig --query-monitor Connected monitors: lvds Enabled monitors: lvds (instead of just getting "Connected monitors: none") and I'm also able to use "aticonfig --enable-monitor". This is on Lenovo T60 with ATI Radeon Mobility X1400. I'm not "there" yet, but at least I'm able to use external monitor with this one. (Another issue to solve is the ability to suspend, which I'm guessing is related to the fglrx driver as well.) -- Update to 8.41.7 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139223 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
