install synaptic and search for virtualbox. there should be some
virtualbox package that hasn't been cleaned.

BTW how did you install the official virtualbox? by deb file or .run? in the 
latter case I guess you need to clean it manually
(this might include remove vboxdrv from /etc/* and lib/*
