Public bug reported: When using "Size at least" / "Size at most", gnome-search-tool uses "1 kB = 1024 B" even though 1 kB = 1000 B"is correct and gnome-search-tool uses the correct 1 kB = 1000 B when displaying the size in the results table.
This is especially confusing when searching for a file with a very specifically known size. I know that the file I search is 276.2 kB big and has a certain string in its name. So I entered the string and set "Size at least" to 276 kB and "Size at most" to 277 kB and got 0 results. But when I calculate how much this is in kiB and enter 269 "kB" as minimum and 270 "kB" as maximum, my file shows up ... and gnome- search-tools shows me that its size is 276.2 kB right in the results table. ** Affects: gnome-search-tool (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1504257 Title: kiB used insead of kB To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-search-tool/+bug/1504257/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
