jvm crash is unrelated to this bug. Assuming you're having the same jvm problem I did, add '/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun' to /etc/eclipse/java_home, probably at the top. By default, eclipse doesn't seem to search in Ubuntu's directory for Sun Java 5.0.
