Public bug reported:

When the system puts the display to sleep after X amount of time of
inactivity it will not turn back on. Black screen. I can press
ctrl+alt+f1 to get me to a terminal session and that works. I then can
restart lightdm or reboot.

This started after upgrading to 15.10.
