Public bug reported: I'm trying to install Ubuntu onto a new SSD with non-functioning Windows partitions. The Windows OS partitions were cloned from another drive using Clonezilla. I'm hoping that installing Ubuntu will write a new boot sector or something like that and make everything bootable.
The whole process is in order to migrate Ubuntu and Windows from two separate SSD's in the same laptop onto a single (larger) SSD so that I can use the DVD writer again. Thanks for any help!
