So, yesterday I installed new kernel, now I am on Uname: Linux 4.2.0-18-generic #22~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Nov 6 22:20:11 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Since then I used my laptop for several hours only with the touchpad and the power cord unplugged (before such configuration led to the freeze the quickest). I also tried to suspend and wake the laptop several times and so far no freezing! I don't know, however, what in the old kernel might have been causing the problem. If anybody knows, let me know too.
