In fact this has nothing to do with starring/unstarring.
If the bookmarks database is empty, the bookmarks view won’t display any
bookmark, not even the hardcoded homepage entry, but it should.

** Changed in: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Triaged

** Changed in: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided => Medium

** Summary changed:

- Star and unstar ubuntu.com removes start.ubuntu.com too
+ Bookmarks view initially empty

** Description changed:

- STEPS:
- 1. Open the webbrowser app
- 2. Goto ubuntu.com
- 3. Tap on the star
- 4. Open bookmark note that you have start.ubuntu.com and ubuntu.com marked
- 5. Tap on done
- 6. In the browser window unstar ubuntu.com
- 7. Open bookmarks
+ Steps to reproduce:
+ 1. Remove (but keep a backup copy) of your bookmark database
(~/.local/share/webbrowser-app/bookmarks.sqlite)
+ 2. Open the webbrowser app
+ 3. Open bookmarks view from the drawer menu

- EXPECTED:
- I expect only ubuntu.com to be removed
+ Expected: the bookmarks view has one hardcoded bookmark for the homepage
+ (http://start.ubuntu.com by default)

- ACTUAL:
- Both start.ubuntu.com and ubuntu.com are removed
-
- Side note:
- If you restar ubuntu.com both bookmarks are returned.
+ Actual: the bookmarks view is empty.
