@ christopher: i would be pleased to do so, but i think this is not even the right list, it is definitely a kernel bug, not a Ubuntu-specific bug. i am running gentoo linux myself, i compiled the kernel myself and didn't use the packaged kernels from ubuntu. don't you think it would be the best if i file a bug report directly there at bugzilla.kernel.org ?
