Ideally, Software & Updates would be just a panel in System Settings, not an app of its own. If so, by default it wouldn't show up in search results.
However, ideally top-level System Settings screens would show up in the search results anyway, so we'd be back where we started. OS X addresses this problem in two ways: (1) Any "System Preferences" panels are in their own category, separate from "Applications", in search results.
