Public bug reported: Cantata on its own doesn't install the dependencies needed to access its own documentation under the menu Help » Cantata Handbook.
The errors that arise when trying to open the handbook suggest an apt- get khelpcenter, so I did that, but still no luck. Now when I try to open the handbook I get a window whose title is "Error: Cannot initiate the help Protocol - help:/cantata/index.html — KDE Help Center". The window body includes a long, vague error message beginning with: The requested operation could not be completed Cannot Initiate the help Protocol Technical Reason: Unable to Launch Process It seems to me that the best thing to do is to add the necessary dependencies to this package so that the documentation works. If seen as too burdensome to force the installation of vast quantities of KDE just to read the docs, then I would point out that for some unfathomable reason this core Cantata documentation seems to be unavailable on the web, so I would recommend filing an upstream request to get it online, and have the menu item in the Ubuntu package link to it. ** Affects: cantata (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1519116 Title: Cantata handbook unusable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cantata/+bug/1519116/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
