I'm also experiencing this. I have upgraded from feisty to gutsy yesterday (Beta release day). The soundfiles themself are ok, I can play them via the sound configuration panel. It's just that esd seems to refuse to start. Audio is played directly via alsa. When I force to use esd it doesn't work and i get a gstreamer error message.
