brettalton : thanks for your contribution and comments. The Ubuntu repositories contain binary package based on source packages. This is how we can get community to help by working on the code and how we can get a program working on different architecture ( x64, PPC, i386 ). The package that I provide must be a source package which will be build by the MOTU if they take the decision to add it to the repositories. For Gutsy, there's a small chance that the package can be added because it's very late, same if the package works great.
If you're interested about packaging, you can look at the packaging guide : https://help.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/packagingguide/C/ and if you want to download a pre-compiled binary package for your personnal use or for testing purposes : http://upload.leservicetechnique.com/ubuntu/gnucash-common_2.2.1-1ubuntu1_all.deb http://upload.leservicetechnique.com/ubuntu/gnucash_2.2.1-1ubuntu1_i386.deb But keep in mind that this package has been merged from Debian unstable and hasn't been tested by more than just me, so it's your risks. If you test and use that version for the package that I built, can you please give your comments about it here? -- new upstream release 2.2.0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/129759 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
