Hey, if you reinstalled the phone it actually suggests it's a hardware
issue... I can't view the video since it's private, but I've not heard
anyone else mention that.

There is one bug that I remember from before, but we've not seen it in a
long time - bug #1408263 - that could in theory explain your issues.

If you have adb access to the device, you can use (on your pc):

$ phablet-config edges-intro --disable

If that doesn't work for some reason, the same can be achieved by
editing this file on the phone:

/var/lib/AccountsService/users/phablet

Edit the line that says "demo-edges=true" to say "demo-edges=false" and
restart the phone.

Ultimately flashing Android could get you a confirmation if the hardware
is still ok. You can also edit the width of the edge detection area (see
ubuntu-phone ML thread [1] for pointers).
