Why did you remove the pasuspender call from the mixxx starter? Whithout it, the Soundcard is can be blocked by PulseAudio e.g by a web page with flash content. If this is the case Mixxx asks to reconfigure the Audio hardware, which is not possible, because the soundcard is still blocked.
