Public bug reported: Running Ubunt 14.04.3 on a Dell XPS 15 9550.
After booting (successfully BTW) I see a number of errors in syslog. I don't notice any errors which seem to indicate that something really is broken, but, and I don't know if it's related, on multiple occasions I had an issue during shutdown where the system only displays my background and nothing responds, not even for example Num Lock. $lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS Release: 14.04 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: linux-image-3.19.0-49-generic 3.19.0-49.55~14.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-49.55~14.04.1-generic 3.19.8-ckt12 Uname: Linux 3.19.0-49-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.19 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Fri Feb 5 12:36:15 2016 InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-02-02 (2 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Beta amd64 (20150805) SourcePackage: linux-lts-vivid UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: linux-lts-vivid (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug trusty ** Attachment added: "One of the stack traces" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1542285/+attachment/4564433/+files/004e3ed937aefe93.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1542285 Title: Xorg Tainted messages in syslog after/during boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-lts-vivid/+bug/1542285/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
