because of this bug: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.version-control.viewvc.issues/2212 causing an initialization / rebuild of the ViewVC database via svndbadmin rebuild /path/to/repository to exit with a python traceback (and thus making it impossible to start with a fresh DB, like in the case of setting up a new server) , I suggest a switch to at least ViewVC 1.1.23, where this bug has been fixed.
