I noticed this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1517726) from 2010. I downloaded a sample .wav file from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAV and ran this:
sudo aplay -Dplughw:0,0 -fcd Downloads/sample.wav It works! I can change the -Dplughw argument and play on both my motherboards rear output and through the USB stick. So there's something being lost in how pulseaudio interacts with this, I think. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1542717 Title: [OEM, Realtek ALC892, Green Line Out, Rear] No sound at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1542717/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
