As I mentioned in comment #4 sound alert for new SMS is working again after reboot. Nevertheless I deleted (from file browser, not using terminal) the ubuntu-phablet-stream-volumes.tdb file and rebooted as suggested in comment #5. Sound alert for text, call, Telegram - all working fine now. The new ubuntu-phablet-stream-volumes.tdb file is attached herewith.
