** Attachment added: "unity8-dash.log"

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/media-hub/+bug/1546963/+attachment/4574273/+files/unity8-dash.log

** Also affects: canonical-devices-system-image
   Importance: Undecided
       Status: New

** Description changed:

After uploading a .m4a file to the phone, rebooting it and attempting to
play it via the Dash, inline playback breaks and it's not possible to
play any files, even the supported ones (until a reboot).

  Steps to reproduce:

  1. Upload a .m4a file to the Music folder on the phone.
  2. Wait a few seconds for mediascanner to process the file, then reboot the
phone.
  3. Go to My Music Scope -> Tracks department, find your m4a song and tap the
Play button on its card.
- result: nothing plays. unity8-dash log has lots of dbus errors related
to media-hub/mpris interface.
+      result: nothing plays. unity8-dash log has lots of dbus errors related
to media-hub/mpris interface.
  4. Try to play any mp3 file directly from the Dash as in previous step.
Playback doesn't work anymore and unity8-dash.log is full of "Failed to get
current playback position: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method
"Get" with signature "ss" on interface "org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties"
doesn't exist" errors. You have to reboot to recover.

Note, the reboot in step 2 is neccessary because mediascanner doesn't
immediately expose unsupported files to the clients. After reboot they
- are exposed though. I'm not sure what's the rationale for this, I think
- it's questionable to expose unsupported files to the clients.
- Nevertheless, media-hub and qtmedia-hub API should be resilent to
- invalid or unsupported files.

Note: Music App also fails badly trying to play an m4a file (freezes
then crashes) and the app needs to be restarted to play mp3s again.
