Same for me as Shadowisfading's comment: "I have the same exact problem with kde5 with manjaro, dual monitor. Never had something similar while using kde4..."
I've lived with it since upgrading to 5. Just implemented the the 1 pixel length, same height tint2 workaround from Asadi above. It works well.
