I've a feeling this .crash file is not the one you're seeing, Dan. The above suggests the crash happened on startup, not when unity8 was running.
Can you give a little more info about your environment so we can try and reproduce? Was this on a x86 machine under unity8-desktop-session-mir or on a mobile device?
