Public bug reported:

I am just trying to get Ubuntu 14.04.4 installed on my new laptop. It
always fails at installing grub. I have run sudo hdparm -I /dev/sda the
drive is not frozen. I have removed all boot entries from UEFI still a
no go. I am using UEFI with secure boot enabled.
