It would be more productive to give some more details here.

I had this problem on 15.10 and now 16.04, and other subsystems are
working okay as I am able to connect via ADB. When I try to connect I
get the error message: "No Storages found. Maybe you need to unlock your
device?" The device is unlocked.

The command $ mtp-detect | grep idVendor

Gives:

Device 0 (VID=18d1 and PID=4ee2) is a Google Inc (for LG Electronics/Samsung)
Nexus 4/5/7/10 (MTP+ADB).
ignoring libusb_claim_interface() = -6PTP_ERROR_IO: failed to open session,
trying again after resetting USB interface
LIBMTP libusb: Attempt to reset device
Error 1: Get Storage information failed.

  idVendor: 18d1

None of the suggested workarounds do.
