There is something similarly frustrating with the latest Fedora 7. Although the rtl drivers are there in the binary release, they fail to load. Downloading the Fedora source for the kernel or the latest kernel release shows that the source code is not in fact in the release.
Downloading the current sourceforge release for rtl-8180: http://rtl-wifi.sourceforge.net/wiki/Download and compiling results in errors with the 2.6.26.[5,9] kernel. There are source release on that site in the Support Forum that work. For the 2.6.26.9 kernel there are some deprecated entry points in the code that need to be removed. After updating the modules load and the DWL-610 works fine. -- DWL-610 network card no longer recognized under Feisty on Thinkpad X30 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109399 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
