Public bug reported: I upgraded to Gusty 2 days ago via: upgrade-manager -c -d within feisty
as soon as i rebooted my CD drive started to spin up every 2 minutes i know my cd drive is ok as i dual boot with win xp & this is only 2 weeks old Also i checked fstab and all partitions listed are now called /dev/sda etc where as previous to the upgrade they were listed as /dev/hda i turned my pc off for the night to reflect & think about the issue & when i turned it back on again the following day the cd drive was all ok?? but my partitions are still listed in fstab as /dev/sda etc i know sdxx is used for SCSI disk's & i know i do not use SCSI because i have 2 IDE drives in total i have 3 linux partitions & 5 ntfs partitions only 1 of the 5 ntfs partitions are mounted in fstab & when i try to mount these i get the error telling me that they cannot be mounted. all 3 linux partitions are accessable but they are being seen as SCSI i think & therefore my running gutsy install is very slow because DMA is not in use i will post my log files later & any others that are needed please help ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- unaccessable partitions since upgrade to gutsy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148062 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
