Public bug reported:

PHP 7.0.4 emits:

"Notice: Undefined variable: offset"

for the table_test.

This appears to be a BC break introduced in upstream PHP, per:
https://3v4l.org/uMrcs.

PHP bug is at: https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=71870.

Temporarily workaround the bug by turning off E_NOTICE messages during
the broken line.

Also, the testsuite needs the patch utility in order to run.

     Importance: Low
         Status: In Progress
