The openvpn failure to setup DNS is due to an error returned to the DBus call to dnsmasq:
dnsmasq update failed: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs: Invalid IP address: 'buildd': bad address So, pretty sure this is a bug in the patch [1] that adds DBus support to dnsmasq, and that the domain and IP address are getting mixed up.
