Public bug reported: I use this laptop for scientific analysis, so the performance loss is very noticeable. This happened suddenly, and does not appear to be related to a cooling problem. Obvious things like rebooting or manually setting the CPU governor to 'performance' don't resolve this.
Before, the CPU would go up to 3.2GHz, and the temperature would be pushing against 85C, which is 'high' for this CPU. Now, the frequency only goes up to 2GHz, and the temperature stays at 60C Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help resolve this issue, I really cannot afford the performance loss that comes with this problem, so I'm very motivated to help resolve this.
