Public bug reported:

Tried several images booting from usb flash drive,
boot is not a problem, but installing Linux Mint, Lubuntu, Korora
results in the same error after a while, independently if installed
imiddeately, from the desktop or via ubiquity.
"error writing to disk, probably old or too warm etc..."
have tried several HD and images = all the same.
Computer has good 1gb RAM (tested)
drive was changed so also ok (same issue on several systems).

the iso mirror is made on a mac via unebootin (boots fine) and also same
result whit boot from usb made on system running Mint 16.

Tried on several pc's (2 old XP systems, 1 former XP with Mint 16 on).

What am I missing here ?
