So, how did you use apt-get to reinstall bluez-utils?

I tried that and it once again gets hung up on trying to stop the
bluetooth service.

I tried to just uninstall bluez-utils and couldn't because it was in an
inconsistent state. It said to reinstall it - I tried that and it once
again hangs at trying to turn off bluetooth services.

So, any hints on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. I
can't update my system at all at the moment.
