Public bug reported: Seems that either the driver is not loading or the incorrect driver is being loaded. The system seems to be loading behind a blank screen. I hear the audio prompt for the login password and I can also see the hard drive running and going into standby as it does when the video is displayed. This is a dual boot system with Win 10 as the other OS. each OS has a 1 terabyte drive of it's own.
If I select the the ver, 16.04 LTS troubleshooting menu selection and then the "Repair" selection when it reaches the "do you want to upgrade ?" I enter d for details, the system then replys with "END" and I enter with a control-c, the system continues to boot and the video is restored. I have retried this several times as I have selected many menu selections and the only procedure that works is the one I have just detailed.
