Ugh - sorry about this, but I realise I've messed up. I assumed that when you install a new kernel package it becomes the default kernel that grub boots. I now know that's not the case.
I've gone back and re-tested all the mainline kernels: 4.2.0, 4.3.0, 4.4.0, and 4.6.0 all work perfectly with regards to this bug report. I'm about to re-test the kernel from -proposed, just to make extra sure I didn't mess up that result, and I'll update the bug tag accordingly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1575334 Title: Docking thinkpad laptop causes a complete system freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1575334/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
