Public bug reported: Binary package hint: denemo
If the same note is present within a bar in multiple octaves, Denemo applies an accidental to all instances following, rather than only within the same octave. For instance, if the key of the piece is D (two sharps), the first note of the bar is middle C and the second note is the C an octave higher, an accidental natural would be required on both notes to negate the sharp of the key signature. However, if the user puts a natural on the middle C, Denemo will apply it to ALL Cs throughout the bar, including the one an octave higher, so that if the user then goes to change that pitch a half-step down it shows a C-flat rather than a C-natural as it should. While it is correct to apply an accidental throughout the bar, musical notation convention is that this only applies to one octave of the note, and any others should need to be indicated separately. ** Affects: denemo (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Denemo mishandles accidentals https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/149084 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
