My hunch. This problem has existed since the exclusion of the k7 kernel optimisations.
fglrx only worked on dapper with these optimisations. (i had to compile it though) Ever since it has been unworkable. If you (the 'ati' driver developers) are suffering difficulties and ATI are suffering difficulties (with fglrx) then might not the problem lie at a deeper level? I've scoured the internet on occasions and found a few very similar problems, but (the ones in english) are mostly dead ends. It might be a bit cynical but i suspect most of these people have either gone back to xp or bought an nvidia. I would like to help resolve this but not sure who to report it to. It would be interesting to try the card on an intel board - which i could do although not immediately. Please tell me if i am barking up the wrong tree. :) Or, if you want to borrow my video card............... -- glxinfo error. ati 9600pro https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/89024 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
