Hi, I just upgraded the kernel using the instructions here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds Now I'm running 4.4.9-040409-generic (according to uname -r). Since that seems to be your suggestion for other users with this same issue. Let me know if you want me to do something else. I've only been running it for a few minutes, I'll let you know if/when it freezes too.
