i found out that installing unionfs-fuse works as a solution for this problem (a retry with another flashdrive got the system to boot properly)
BUT fuse is not really a solution since overlayfs or aufs are faster.. the problem narrows down to one question "why is overlayfs or aufs not available at boot time on the live system?" i tried with an additional kernel parameter UNIONFS=overlay and immediately drop to a busybox again.. both modules can be loaded when the live system is running so the problem probably resides in the initramdisk? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1579030 Title: using casper > 1.340 causes live system to drop to busybox ( To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1579030/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
