Hi,

I have a Zenbook UX303UA running Ubuntu 16.04 (4.4.0-22-generic x86_64),
fresh install and I have the same problem.

CASE 1:

If connect my Zenbook via HDMI to my Sony Bravia smart TV, the display
shows up on the TV, but everything freezes. No keys work, cursor will
not move, and must do a hard reboot.

CASE 2:

If I boot the laptop with the HDMI cable plugged in, then I have two
displays and everything works just fine.

CASE 3:

If I remove the cable after CASE 2, things are still fine, but if I now
plug it back in then the laptop crashes as in CASE 1.
