A reminder that when we mirror a bug to Canonical, it needs to be either 
obvious that there is something they need to take action, e.g. apply this 
commit, and if not we need to let them know that we are mirroring for either 
their awareness or help. It wasn't clear here.

So, with regards to the warning:

I think it originates from:

9102     WARN_ON(BTRFS_I(inode)->outstanding_extents);

and there is a current discussion on a similar issue upstream:
