I have experienced this problem as well with the latest updates.

The "nvidia" drivers fail.

The restricted drivers manager will not start stating "You need to
install the package linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22-13-generic for this
program to work."

Attempting to mark an upgrade from linux-restricted-modules-generic
2.6.22.12.17 to 2.6.22.13.18 in Synaptic fails with an error message
"linux-restricted-modules-generic: Depends: linux-restricted-
modules-2.6.22-13-generic but it is not installable"

I have reverted to the "nv" driver for the present, awaiting another
update.
