Public bug reported:

I tried to install Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on a Maxdata Vision 4000X laptop with Intel
Pentium 4 Northwood @1,8Ghz and 1,2GB of ram.
Windows 7 works on it.
I changed the hdd (i dont want to overwrite windows 7 and don´t want a dualboot
because the hdd has only 60gb) and now i have another 20gb drive inside this
computer.
I started "instal ubuntu" from the unetbootin menue (i´ḿ using a usb flash
drive to install) and started the installation.
After partitioning the harddisk the setup displays me a input/output error.
The harddisk is fully working and my ub flash drive too.
I tried to redownload the installer image, but its not working at all.
I also get this error in vmware player on my newer laptop (with intel core i5
and 8gb ram)
I think its a general problem and not a hardware problem.
