Public bug reported: Add support to detect available app updates in the background, without requiring the user to enter the updates panel.
Possibly refactor the existing check into a plugin for polld that gets installed with the settings app. This would trigger a new notification that some number of app updates are available. Once this is supported we can consider adding a setting to allow the updates to be downloaded and applied automatically. When this is done there should be a new notification that some number of apps were updated and what they were. ** Affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Wishlist Assignee: Bill Filler (bfiller) Status: Confirmed ** Affects: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Changed in: canonical-devices-system-image Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: canonical-devices-system-image Milestone: None => backlog ** Changed in: canonical-devices-system-image Assignee: (unassigned) => Bill Filler (bfiller) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589601 Title: Detect app updates in the background To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1589601/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
