Public bug reported:

Still another attempt at a fresh installation on the identical computer
(8-core AMD 4ghz/core) but this time on a smaller hard drive (1Tb
Western Digital vs 3Tb Toshiba

I've no idea what the hell the version information is at this point - I
downloaded the iso on another computer's spare time (also crunching
BOINC BTW) and it is the same rendition of Ubuntu Yaketty Yak as near as
I can tell as you've been posting for the last frigging year!

This is 2016 for your reference.

Ubuntu Yaketty Yak isn't a stable release (yet) on this 8-core AMD,
although it runs fine on Intel processors in Dell computers:

So
1) the problem is not with the hard drive in this computer
2) maybe the problem is because this computer is an ASUS
3) OR maybe the problem is because this computer has an AMD processor that is
running, by default, at 4.0ghz/core

My e.mail address continues to be either <timh...@olympus.net> OR
tim12...@gmail.com - those accounts are linked, so both will eventually
get to me - the olympus.net account sometimes takes an extra day or so
due to some overhead as I'm attempting to deal with about 150 e.mails a
day here...

** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
