Public bug reported: Binary package hint: restricted-manager-core
I have a Dell Optiplex 755. I added a Radone 2600 XT 512 MB (MSI board) afterwards. After installing gutsy gibbon, it was suggested (by restricted-manager-core?) that I install the restricted drivers to get full 3d capability (before, I guess, it was just using VESA with 1024x768 res). After I did that, X wouldn't start any more. Turns out, only the most recent 8.41 driver (not in Ubuntu - yet?) supports the 2x00 series. Hence, maybe the restricted-manager should not suggest using the ATI drivers for the 2x00 series card? ** Affects: restricted-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ati restricted suggested for radeon 2600 - does not work (X crashes - vesa at least worked) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150054 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
